Weekend in the desert

Here are my favorite things about my weekend in the desert with Bubby:

Seeing Megan and Bubby approaching while Jim and I waited for our luggage at the airport. (I didn't stay at the luggage carousel once I spotted them, of course!)

Trying to teach Bubby how to jump straight up in the air. He doesn't yet grasp the concept of getting his feet off the ground so he'd end up balanced on his tippy toes, looking much like a munchkin ballerina.

Getting a preview of Bubby's Halloween costume.

Savoring the "love-love" squeezes around my neck from the sweetest boy around.

Watching Bubby and Grandpa sneak up on the bunnies that congregate in the neighborhood park each evening:

Eliciting incredible giggles from my Bubby by acting like he has the stinkiest toes in town.

Seeing the pint-size Joe Cool in action.

Riding the dinosaur with my sweetie.

Cooling off at the splash park.

The precious bedtime ritual: Rocking, reading and nighttime prayer followed by sweet sleepy hugs. Best bonus ever: Seeing those little hands perfectly folded together for "Now I lay me down to sleep... ."

Making French toast for Bubby's Sunday breakfast ... and watching him gobble it up!

Watching Bubby compare belly buttons with Grandpa ... again and again.

An impromptu slow-song singalong while swaying together after naptime.

Lunchtime with Bubby, Megan and Preston as we headed to the airport -- the only extended amount of time we had with all the members of our favorite little family.

EVERY SINGLE ONE of the 3,420 minutes we spent with Bubby (and Roxy!) during our too-short desert visit.
