Savory Snack Crackers
I've seen several variations of this kind of cracker on Pinterest. For my version, I tweaked the ingredients a bit and used oyster crackers, making them a savory snack you can easily pop in your mouth — by the handfuls, if so inclined. (I'm pretty sure you'll be so inclined... or so my oldest and youngest daughters tell me.)
16 ounces oyster crackers
1 cup canola oil
1 1-ounce package dry Ranch Dressing & Dip mix
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1-2 tablespoons crushed red pepper flakes (according to taste)
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In large bowl, combine oil, dip mix, garlic powder and pepper flakes powders are dissolved. Add the oyster crackers and stir until all crackers are well coated. Spread evenly in large baking sheet. Bake 10 minutes, stirring ever 3-4 minutes. Cool and munch.
Makes about 6 cups.
Variation: Use Italian Dressing mix instead of the ranch and toss with Parmesan after baking.
