Promises of summer and plums to come

Summer — and plums — will be here soon.

For now, though, I'll simply enjoy my pre-summer yard... and its promises of what's to come.

Which pleases you more — your yard in spring or your yard in summer?

Farewell, summer whites

For reasons not perfectly clear, wearing white after Labor Day has long been rendered a faux pas of magnificent proportion.

With that in mind, I bid farewell to summer's flora and fauna that will soon cast their garments of white to the wind.
