The holiday season is undeniably a hot time for film releases. Disney's FROZEN is one of the hottest for those looking for a movie that will appeal to not only both genders but to a wide range of ages, too, from the tiniest moviegoers on up to their grandmas and grandpas.
I say that with confidence based on my recent viewing of FROZEN, which I had the opportunity to do for free, courtesy Disney. My husband and two...
“The unthankful heart discovers no mercies; but the thankful heart will find, in every hour, some heavenly blessings.”
― Henry Ward Beecher
In recognition of the Thanksgiving holiday, folks all across the Internet have been posting their 30 days of thanks, listing each day of November something for which they're thankful.
I've not been doing that. Not because I don't have at least 30 things I'm thankful for, but because I don't have the attention span to list those 30 things for 30 days running. I know myself: I'd forget one day then have to make it up the next, only to find myself too busy to post and end up with a week's worth of thanks to share. (For exactly that reason — my crazy short attention span — don't expect to ever see a novel from me either. It's one trait I'm not particularly thankful for.)
I do have so much to be thankful for, though.
It's Thanksgiving week. And though our plates are overflowing with things to do, what grandma or grandpa worth their whiskers isn't interested in adding more knowledge to their noggin? Especially when it's Thanksgiving-related tidbits we can use to dazzle our little darlings while we're together over the holiday.
So before you participate in this week's GRAND Social link party, add the following 5 Tips for a Better Thanksgiving through Chemistry to your arsenal for amazing your grandkids — and big kids, too — this Thanksgiving (it's more interesting than it sounds, I promise):
When it comes to Thanksgiving, it's best to expand our brains rather than our bellies, I always say. (Actually, I've never said that before in my life. It sounded good, though, don't ya think?)
Enough turkey talk. Time for the main course:
In DELIVERY MAN, which opened in theaters yesterday, Vince Vaughn plays David Wozniak, a simple yet good-hearted and, truth be told, sort of irresponsible fella who just finds out he's a father — to 533 children. Children whom David never knew about til now because he was instrumental in their being only through a period of prolific sperm donoring 20 years before.
Early in the film, David finds out he's being sued by 142 of those now-adult kids thanks to a mix-up on the part of the sperm donor company. David's identity was supposed to remain anonymous forever after making his donations. No more. Hilarity as well as heartfelt moments prevail as those kids band together in hopes of outing and connecting with Daddy.
The timing of the paternity nightmare couldn't be worse for David, as he just learned he's becoming a daddy once again.
