2015 Subaru Legacy road trip: Red Rock Canyon Open Space

Disclosure: I was provided a 2015 Subaru Legacy free for one week for review as part of the #SubaruLegacy blogger program. Opinions are my own.

As regular readers know, I once owned a 2015 Subary Legacy 3.6R Limited. For a week. As part of the #SubaruLegacy blogger program.

During that week, I had a fun-filled day with my friend Ruth, part of which included a road trip in the Subaru Legacy to Paint Mines Interpretive Park.

What regular readers may not know is that at the end of that week, Jim and I took a road trip in the Subaru Legacy across town to Red Rock Canyon Open Space—one of the many "open spaces" in our area and one we had never stopped to enjoy in our decades of passing it as we drove on up Ute Pass to more mountainous spots in the Pikes Peak Region.

From the road, Red Rock Canyon Open Space never seemed too appealing. Thank heavens the week with the 2015 Subaru Legacy led us there in pursuit of seeing local sites we'd not yet seen. Once we parked the pretty sedan and chose which trails to take, we could not believe the beauty hidden beyond the initial hills and seemingly small rock outcrops.

Here's where we went...

And here's a slide show of what we saw along the way (you can see the full images by checking out the collection in my Brag Book)...

Truly an incredible walk. And relatively easy—except for those tall stairs Jim climbed but I took the easy way around. When we were done, though, despite how very cool we look, we were hot. Hot. HOT! And oh so grateful for the powerful dual-zone Automatic Climate Control in the Subaru Legacy as we headed home.

The quick-cooling AC wasn't the only cool Subaru Legacy feature we enjoyed and appreciated and fiddled with that day. There was the navigation infotainment system that led the way there...

As well as navigational and maintenance features we'd not yet had a chance to explore...

(Jim did most of the exploring of those while I drove. Honest!)

Thus was my final outing with the 2015 Subaru Legacy 3.6R Limited—a comfortable, safe, and stylish vehicle I was quite sad to see go.
