Boy or girl and the 4-1-1 on 2-1-1

The most important thing I've learned this week is... Well, I won't learn that most important thing until this afternoon.

What sort of edification am I awaiting?

Why, the answer to this:

expecting a boy or girl

Megan and Preston find out today if Bubby and Mac will have a new little brother or a new little sister come June.

Soon after they know, Jim and I will know if we will have a new little grandson or a new little granddaughter come June.

I'm so excited to find out!

As I usually share new knowledge of the week on Fridays and that bit o' news is something I don't yet know, I'll share the following instead.

I mentioned to a family member the other day that another family member of ours — one who is struggling against tremendous financial difficulty — should call 2-1-1 to seek assistance of whatever kind might be available.

From that conversation I learned that few people know about 2-1-1. Perhaps you don't know about 2-1-1.

Like dialing 4-1-1 for directory assistance or 9-1-1 for help in an emergency, dialing 2-1-1 in most areas of the country will connect you to an organization that will provide direction to aid for assistance of all sorts.

To find out if 2-1-1 is available in your community or in the community of someone you'd like to refer to the service, visit the 2-1-1 Referral and Search website.

It saddens me that as I await the fantastic news regarding the gender of my next grandchild, my loved one suffers yet another blow due to our freakin' messed-up economy. I have my fingers crossed that 2-1-1 will be utilized and offer some direction, answers, help. Perhaps it will now do the same for someone you know.

I'll soon be sharing with you the great news on my grandbaby's gender. In the meantime, I'm interested in your guess...

Todays' question:

Megan and Preston have two sons so far. Do you think the new baby — my new grandbaby! — will be a boy or a girl?
