In honor of Patriot Day 2014

Today, September 11, is Patriot Day, officially known as Patriot Day and National Day of Service and Remembrance.

Not to be confused with Patriots' Day (celebrated in April), Patriot Day was officially designated in 2002 by President George Bush as a day of remembrance for the 2,977 killed in the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks. The name was changed to the longer version by President Obama in 2009.

In honor of Patriot Day, here is Daniel Rodriguez — the official singer for the NYPD Ceremonial Unit who sang God Bless America at countless memorials after the Sept. 11 attacks — singing Star-Spangled Banner at a 2013 event.
