Summer color

Welcome to a new week! I hope your weekend was beautiful. Mine was, due in part to this colorful little visitor who hung out at my place for much of the weekend.

Jim and I marveled at how the little guy seemed happy to participate in a long photo shoot to show off his glorious colors from all angles.

He even posed perfectly time and again for closeups to show off his nectar-sucking equipment as well.

Why do I refer to the beauty as he? Hmmm... not sure. But whether a he or a she, it sure made me — and Jim — smile. (Though it would have made us smile even more if he or she would have posed with Mickey or Lyla for a perfect "Dog and Butterfly" shot!)
